Days in GWU

2021-2023

Nonvolatile optical memory

A zero-static-power and electrically programmed multi-bit P-RAM on a silicon-on-insulator platform shows efficient amplitude modulation up to 0.2 dB/μm and an ultra-low insertion loss of a total 0.12 dB for a 4-bit memory showing a 100x improved signal to loss ratio.

2021-2023

Photodetectors

MoS2 (2D material)and Sb2Te3 (Topological Insulator)-based heterojunction photodetector shows a high photoresponsivity of >150 mA W−1 at zero bias and rectification of 3 times at an externally applied bias voltage of 1V, which paves the way for the development of novel high-performance optoelectronic devices.

2017-2023

ITO Modulators

This GHz-fast broadband integrated Mach-Zehnder based ITO modulator exhibiting a miniscule V𝜋L of 95V⋅µm, deploying a subwavelength short electrostatically tunable plasmonic phase shifter based on heterogeneously integrated indium tin oxide thin films into silicon photonics.

Digital Filter Design and Application

1. Gained proficiency in using MATLAB to design and implement digital filters for various applications.

April 2016

Display Cell Design and Production

1. Gaining a deep understanding of fabrication process of an LCD unit, including the fabrication techniques, process details and precautions.

2. Individually produce an LCD unit, carrying out quality evaluations, and conducting error diagnose.

February 2016

Photoelectric Detection

1. Gain expertise in the software tools of Origin and LabView, which were then applied in the measurement and analysis of various acoustic properties.

2. Measured the Q value of a loudspeaker using self-mixing interference technology and performed analysis.

October 2015

Training for Optical Fiber Devices

1. Gained a thorough understanding of free space optical setups and the associated interference measurement techniques.

2. Conducted measurements and analyses to investigate the relationship between bending loss, wavelength, and bending radius in single-mode fibers
